On Thursday, May 11, 2023, Cell & Gene Therapy Supply Chain experts will meet near Antwerp (more precisely in Niel).
Advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) hold great potential for improving healthcare. They offer hope for treating or even curing patients. The biopharmaceutical industry recognizes the importance of making such therapies available to as many people as possible. But shipping such products presents a special challenge. Shipments are temperature and time sensitive. If a shipment is lost or a product is delivered to the wrong patient, the immediate result can be loss of life. Choosing the right carrier for a shipment is always important, but it is even more important in the context of ATMP. The roundtable will focus on the requirements and safeguards needed to ship and track ATMP – with an eye toward one of our specialties, technology. The event will start at 1:30 pm with Eddy Weygaerts as keynote speaker. He will talk about “Different technologies which enable the distribution of the vaccines worldwide in the past 3 years”. Afterwards there will be a panel discussion and different tracks on cold chain technologies, packaging technologies and digital technologies.
